We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the week. Given the many exciting developments that have taken place in the last 48 hours, we wanted to provide parents with an up date on the following items described below:

 

One More Parent Zoom Session! (June 17, 2021) A big thank you to all the parents that joined us these past weeks for our informational sessions, your questions and the overall dialogue were much appreciated! Given several parent requests for one more session and the request of the parents via the questions outlined in the completed survey, we will be conducting another parent information session on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 6:00 PM. Whether you’ve attended a session previously or not, all are welcome to join.

We are happy to announce that the school hours for 2021-2022 school year will remain the same as this year, starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 4:00 PM. Before and after care and breakfast will also remain at the same time.

While our team has been diligently working to update parent emails and phone numbers, we understand that the school’s previous records may not have been fully updated or emails may have changed. 2021-2022 School Year Articular Survey (One Survey Per Student Due June 18, 2021)
As we ensure that student and parent needs and preferences are integrated into student schedules, courses, and academic tracks for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond, as sent earlier via REMIND, below you will find the link to an important articulation survey that needs to be completed by all parents by June 18, 2021. Instructional Coach PM Wells Charter Academy for the 2021-2022 School Year
We are excited to announce that Ms. Evelyn Rodriguez, currently a social studies teacher at PM Wells Charter Academy, has been appointed as the new Instructional Coach for PM Wells Charter Academy for the 2021-2022 School Year. Ms. Rodriguez brings a wealth of experience via a long and successful teaching career in Chicago and the Orlando area and is passionate not only about providing ALL students with a quality education focusing on equity and differentiated supports, but also as a much sought-after and appreciated resource by PM Wells teachers, all of whom are excited for her promotion and new role. Congratulations Ms. Rodriguez! We have full confidence that under your leadership, our instructional program will be the best in the district!

 

Athletic Director PM Wells Charter Academy for the 2021-2022 School Year
We are excited to announce that Mr. Manuel Narvaez, currently a physical education teacher at Victory Charter School K-5 will serve as the new Athletic Director for PM Wells Charter Academy. Athletics is not only a great enrichment activity and skill-set development process, it also creates a sense of pride and accomplishment for scholar athletes. Mr. Narvaez has a long track record of coaching students, providing physical education, and even playing basketball at competitive levels. We are excited about his experience and the fun, engaging, and growth-oriented athletic programs he will bring to our Panther Pride!

Transportation Update
Please note that regardless of the company the school will utilize for bussing for the 2021-2022 school year and beyond, all student pickup and drop off locations from the previous year will be honored for this coming school year. Therefore, parents that received bus transportation last year can have the piece of mind that they will receive transportation this year as well. We have begun communication with A&S transportation, as well as other vendors, to determine the best and most feasible transportation company for the school.

 

STEAM Program at PM Wells Charter Academy

STEAM education is a significant goal within the charter of our school and this coming school year, STEAM is back! We have already begun planning exciting field trips, experiments, technology-driven projects, artistic endeavors, and more to enrich our Panther students’ education and make them more competitive as they prepare for high school. More information on this will be forthcoming.

School Uniforms
As mentioned during our recent informational webinars, all school uniforms will stay the same for the 2021-2022 school year. For new families and returning families that need new uniforms, uniform order process information will be released shortly.

 

21st Century Tutoring Program
We are excited to announce that the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) program will remain in effect for the 2021-2022 school year. More information on program registration will be forthcoming.
