PM Wells Charter Academy is proud to offer a Dual Language Program for students in grades K – 4th. This program provides a unique educational opportunity for students to develop proficiency in both English and Spanish, fostering bilingualism and biliteracy.

Program Structure:

In the Dual Language Program, students receive instruction in English and Spanish, with a focus on language arts and science in Spanish. This immersive approach allows students to develop strong language skills and cultural understanding in both languages.

Spanish Language Arts:

As part of the Dual Language Program, students participate in 60 minutes of dedicated instruction in Spanish Language Arts. During this time, students engage in activities and lessons that focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Spanish. Through a variety of texts and materials, students develop literacy skills in their second language, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of Spanish literature and language.

Science in Spanish:

In addition to Spanish Language Arts, students in the Dual Language Program have 30 minutes of science instruction conducted entirely in Spanish. This provides students with the opportunity to explore scientific concepts and develop their scientific inquiry skills while simultaneously strengthening their Spanish language proficiency.
